This webinar is open to investors only.
Date: Tuesday, 3 June 2014
Time: 15:00 – 16:15 BST
With the anniversary of the Rana Plaza building collapse on 24 April, you are invited to join an investor education webinar on Bangladesh on 3 June.
Hosted jointly by the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) and the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), this webinar will provide an insight into supply chain labour standards risks, opportunities and challenges for companies sourcing from Bangladesh.
On May 6, 2013, ICCR organized a global investor statement signed by over 200 organizations representing US$ 3.1 trillion in assets under management in an urgent call for action. For the past year, this ICCR-led investor group has served as a platform for education and coordinated action to encourage systemic change in Bangladesh by companies, investors and other key stakeholders. ICCR is currently calling on investors to consider supporting an investor statement and shareholder resolution in 2014. PRI signatories can find further details details on the Clearinghouse.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Dan Rees, Director, Better Work, a partnership between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation, with an active programme in Bangladesh.
- Rosey Hurst, Founder and Director of Impactt, a consultancy specialising in ethical trade that works with major brands, retailers, factories and workers in Bangladesh.
- Lauren Compere, Managing Director/Director of Shareholder Engagement at Boston Common Asset Management, ICCR Bangladesh Investor Steering Committee member
- Neil Brown, SRI Fund Manager, Alliance Trust Investments and Chair of PRI’s Integration Working Group.
