A new publication by the Property Working Group of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) will be launched in New York on the 26th February, 2014. This paper outlines why and how asset owners and managers can generate profitable energy efficiency investment opportunities and proactively manage them even in cases where payback is uncertain. The report provides a synthesis of essential information and practices from real estate leaders in the form of a guide and includes examples of how investors can increase the value of their real estate assets through energy efficiency retrofits.
The launch event will feature a panel discussion to showcase existing financing solutions for investors, asset managers and banks, while emphasizing how these can contribute to scaling up the financing of energy efficiency in buildings in North America.
The panelists, ranging from investors, financing organizations, government entities, and buildings owners, will provide unique perspectives.
