Job description: This is a unique opportunity for an experienced responsible investment professional to develop the implementation support activities within of one of the most vibrant and fast growing initiatives in the area of responsible investment. You would be a member of the senior management team of the United-Nations backed PRI Secretariat and would be leading, overseeing and developing a comprehensive toolbox of implementation support resources and activities to assist signatories in integrating the Principles across their portfolios. This includes developing support activities looking at how the principles can apply within different asset classes, different types of investors, and different investment approaches. You would lead the development of guidance in the form of best practice guides, case studies, webinars, events, training and other activities as appropriate. You would also oversee our engagement clearinghouse and reporting and assessment work streams. Specific tasks include:

About the RI Academy: In February 2009 RIAA received a grant of $2.5 million from Federal Government Treasury, via the former Minister for Superannuation, Senator Nick Sherry, to embark on its most ambitious project to date – the development of the world’s first Responsible Investment Academy. The Academy is different to other learning that has taken place in the RI arena in that the content is designed for a global audience and all lessons will be delivered online via a robust training portal. The RI Academy will provide structured learning pathways for investment professionals to obtain experience, contacts, advancement, knowledge and qualifications in the area of responsible investment. The RI Academy has developed a formal partnership with the United Nations backed Principles for Responsible Investment as well as Yale University’s Millstein Centre for Corporate Governance and Performance. The Role of Business Development Manager: Working closely with the General Manager, the role of Business Development Manager will include the management of global product distribution and sales and support in the execution of marketing campaigns. You will be instrumental in developing key affiliate relationships and business contacts required to establish a robust long-term revenue model for the RI Academy. You will be generating leads for possible sales, follow–up sales activity and create formal proposal documents. You will report to the General Manager of the RI Academy. You will assist the General Manager in setting sales and distribution goals, monitors success, address performance gaps, and related strategies based on metrics and observations. You will be working closely with the Academy team comprising internal staff and external consultants and suppliers, including Public Relations and Market Research consultants. Business Development Manager will also monitor industry and competitive trends to help identify new opportunities and help prioritize product/service development efforts.
