    Fiona Reynolds, Managing Director

    Fiona Reynolds is Managing Director of the PRI, responsible to the board for the PRI’s global operations which includes more than 1350 signatories representing over US$59 trillion in assets under management, across 50 countries. Fiona has more than 20 years’ experience in the pension sector working in particular with the Australian Government and has played a key role in advocating pension policy change on behalf of working Australians. Fiona has a particular interest in retirement outcomes for women. Prior to joining PRI, Fiona spent seven years as the Chief Executive Officer at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (“AIST”) an association for Australian asset owners. Fiona has formerly been a Director of AUSfund, Industry Funds Credit Control, Australia for UNHCR and the National Network of Women in Super. In September 2012 she was named by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s top 100 women of influence for her work in public policy. Fiona also serves on the Councils of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), Tomorrow’s Company, the Global Advisory Council on Stranded Assets at Oxford University and the Business for Peace Steering Committee.. High Resolution pictures available here.

  • Mark Blair

    Mark Blair, Director of Operations and Finance

    Mark joined PRI as Director of Operations and Finance in July 2010. For many years Mark was Chief Finance Officer of General Atlantic (the business arm of the Atlantic Philanthropies) in the UK and also CEO of a luxury goods division within the group. Mark began his professional career as an Investment Analyst in the City before becoming a Chartered Management Accountant. He has since combined several international Managing and Finance Director roles, predominantly in fashion, leisure, retail and online. Mark is involved with Child's i Foundation, a charity dealing with baby abandonment in Uganda, which was set up in 2009.

    Nathan Fabian, Director of Policy and Research

    Nathan joined the PRI in July 2015 as Director of policy and research after leading the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) as CEO for the past  six years. Previous to this role, Mr Fabian spent two and a half years as head of ESG research at Regnan, a leading provider of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) research and engagement. He has also worked as a senior consultant for Arthur Andersen and as a market analyst at Krone, a German-based telecommunications company and as a corporate governance policy advisor to Senator Penny Wong of Australia. Mr Fabian holds an M.A. in International Relations from the University of New South Wales and a BBus. from the University of Newcastle. Mr Fabian will be responsible for further developing and implementing the PRI’s policy work stream, supporting signatories to identify and overcome barriers that currently prevent financial markets from functioning more sustainably.

    Lorenzo Saà, Director, Networks and Global Outreach

    Lorenzo Saà joined the PRI in 2009. He is Director of Networks and Global Outreach, responsible for the PRI’s global outreach and signatory relations strategy. Prior to his current role, Lorenzo was the PRI’s Associate Director of Signatory Services (covering Implementation Support, Investor Engagement and Reporting & Assessment), having previously spent five years as Head of Reporting and Assessment. Before joining the PRI he held project manager and financial analyst roles at UniCredit and MicroRate, overseeing microfinance initiatives and advising on responsible investments. He also served as an independent consultant for development organisations such as the World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He holds a BA in Business and Economics from the Università Cattolica, Milan, and a joint MBA/Masters in International Public Policy from SDA Bocconi, Milan and SAIS – Johns Hopkins, Washington, D.C.

    Sagarika Chatterjee, Associate Director, Policy and Research

    Sagarika joined PRI in 2013 and focuses on investor action on climate change, including the Montreal Carbon Pledge. Before this, Sagarika spent ten years at BMO Global Asset Management (F&C) on corporate governance and sustainable investment.  She also worked at Kingfisher plc sourcing independently certified timber for retailer B&Q.  She serves on Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s investment sub-committee in a personal capacity.  She is an Advisory Group member for the Mercers report, Investing in a Time of Climate Change. Sagarika has a BA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge.

    Craig Fergusson, Associate Director, Human Resources

    After completing his diploma in New York, Craig started his career in financial services as an investment analyst covering semiconductors and related technology stocks. Moving to London he continued as an investment analyst for an independent brokerage and was responsible for a small sales team servicing clients in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and London. After a brief spell heading up a Quant desk in financial services headhunting, Craig moved to an in-house recruitment function in Environment and broadened out to cover the full HR spectrum from there. Craig joined the PRI in June 2013 and has a PhD in Surface Chemistry, a Diploma in International Business and an MSc in Human Resource Development.

  • Maria Lettini

    Maria Lettini, Associate Director, Networks and Global Outreach

    Maria joined the PRI in September of 2011.  As Associate Director within the Networks and Global Outreach team, she currently heads the PRI’s outreach and signatory relations effort in both North and South America.  She has over fifteen years experience in business and finance.  Maria spent eight years working in Institutional Equity Sales at J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank, covering European, Asian and Latin American equities. She has been based in San Francisco, New York, Madrid and London. Maria obtained a Master of Arts in Environment, Politics and Globalization from King's College London and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Latin American Studies from San Diego State University.

  • Matthew McAdam

    Matthew McAdam, Associate Director, Communications

    Matthew McAdam joined the PRI in April 2012 and leads the team responsible for managing communications with signatories, the media and other external stakeholders. Prior to joining PRI, he was Associate Director, Communications at Standard & Poor's in London, where he managed communications and media relations across S&P's credit ratings, indices, equity and fund research businesses over six years, particularly in emerging markets in the Middle East and South Africa. He  was previously a finance journalist at The Australian Financial Review in Sydney. Matthew completed a Masters in Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge and holds a Bachelor of Communications from Griffith University. He also holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and the UK Investment Management Certificate.

    Tomi Nummela, Associate Director, Investment Practices

    Tomi joined the Investment Practices team in January 2014 and was appointed to his current role in September 2014. He was previously a Programme Manager at the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, delivering a thought leadership programme for institutional investors. The programme was championed at the most senior levels in the member organisations and designed to integrate ESG research and best practice into mainstream business strategy. He previously held capital market roles at Société Générale as a Director responsible for corporate debt origination, at ABN AMRO Rothschild managing Nordic equity origination, and at ABN AMRO. Mr Nummela has an MSc in Finance from the University of Turku and an MBA in CSR from the University of Nottingham. Tomi chairs a charity, The Bootstrap Company, running an active programme of support for young unemployed people, start-ups and small businesses.

  • Valeria Piani

    Valeria Piani, Associate Director, Investor Engagements

    Valeria Piani joined the PRI Initiative in June 2008. Her role is coordinating and supervising the Investor Engagements’ team who support institutional investors' dialogue with investee companies on environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics. Before joining PRI, Valeria worked in international development cooperation for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme in Argentina. She also worked in Italy as consultant on corporate communications and CSR for multinational companies. Valeria graduated in International Public Administration and Development at the Luigi Bocconi Business School of Milan. She also completed a Master of Arts in CSR at the University of Nottingham Business School with a dissertation on the effectiveness of shareholders’ collaborative engagement activities with companies on ESG issues. Her research has been published by the Business & Society Journal and Emerald Group Publishing and it has been selected by the Editors as an Outstanding Author Contribution in the 2014 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence.

    Christopher Sperling, Associate Director, Corporate Office

    Christopher Sperling provides high level support to the Executive Director, PRI Association Board and PRI Advisory Council. Christopher holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BA in History of Art from the School of Oriental and African Studies and University College London.

    Melissa Eisdell, Executive Assistant to Managing Director

    Melissa joined the PRI in August 2014 in the role of Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Fiona Reynolds. She works closely with Fiona by organising, planning and mapping both internal and external activities in relation to her work at the PRI. She has previously held positions at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, an authority on global security, political risk and conflict and within financial and professional services, publishing and communications at breakingviews.com, Associated Press, Euromoney, Lloyd’s of London and the London Stock Exchange.

    Michal Fonea Alexandron, Networks & Global Outreach Senior Operations Manager (maternity leave)

    Michal Fonea Alexandron joined the PRI in 2012 and works as Senior Operations Manager, Networks and Global Outreach. In this role, Michal works across PRI geographies, coordinating activities and managing the flow of information to ensure a seamless and integrated Networks and Global Outreach function. Michal holds an MSc in Environmental Policy from The University of Oxford and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

    Tatiana Assali, Head of South America, Networks & Global Outreach

    Tatiana joined the PRI in October 2014 with extensive experience across investor relations and corporate communications. Tatiana has worked in capital markets for over 10 years, including the treasury department of Banco Santander Brasil and 5 years as a managing partner at MZ Consult, a large investor relations advisory firm in Brazil. In this role she was responsible for an extensive client portfolio, composed of listed and non-listed companies, across different markets. She participated in the GRI Certified Training Program and holds certificates in in both, Sustainability and Social Corporate Management and International Affairs and Foreign Trade from FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. She holds a certificate in Behavioral Economics from FIPECAFI and a BA (International Business) from Universidade Paulista.

    Adrian Bertrand, Head of Africa, Networks & Global Outreach

    Adrian joined the PRI as Head of Africa, Networks & Global Outreach in February 2015. Prior to joining PRI, he worked as ESG Manager at the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) of South Africa where he was responsible for managing and implementing the GEPF’s responsible investment programme. Prior to starting his employment at GEPF in 2011, Adrian worked as PRI’s first South African Network Manager. Adrian currently serves on the following South African investment industry committees: ASISA RI Committee, CRISA Committee, JSE SRI Index Advisory Committee. Prior to joining PRI, Adrian served as GEPF representative investment committee member to the Pan African Infrastructure Development Fund (PAIDF) as managed by Harith General Partners. Adrian holds an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

  • Anastasia Guha

    Anastasia Guha, Senior Manager, Strategic Projects

    Working across the Networks and Global Outreach Team, Anastasia acts as an advisor on all outputs ensuring that they are aligned with PRI’s strategic imperatives this incudes editing, redrafting or co-authoring the vast majority of PRI publications. Anastasia joined in PRI in 2011 as part of Communications team where she was responsible for the PRI in Person annual event and all other PRI events globally; she is also part of the team responsible for PRI's marketing and messaging. Previously she has worked in communications at Euromoney Institutional Investor and Fidelity International. She has also worked as a features editor for various trade publications including Chambers and Partners and has published articles in the Spectator. She holds a BSc in Economics and Applied Statistics (Ferguson College, India) and MA in International Political Economy (Warwick).

    Melanie Klebeck, Networks & Global Outreach Officer, Germany

    Melanie joined the PRI in 2012 and is responsible for supporting the German Network and acting as first contact point for German signatories. She works closely with Dustin Neuneyer, Head of Continental Europe at PRI.

    Sonal Mahida, Senior Consultant, U.S. Strategic Projects

    Sonal joined the PRI in February 2014 with over 10 years of experience in responsible investment. During her career she has worked on ESG from institutional investor, non-profit, and corporate issuer perspectives. Her experience includes shareholder engagement, developing proxy voting guidelines, proxy voting analysis, ESG integration, and leading a corporate transparency initiative in the US. Prior to PRI, Sonal was part of the corporate sustainability reporting team at Hess, a U.S. oil and gas company. As Vice President of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), she managed the organization’s U.S. operations. Before joining CDP in 2008, Sonal was a Senior Governance Analyst at TIAA-CREF, where she led ESG dialogues and engagements with portfolio companies, and undertook internal proxy voting analysis. She holds an M.B.A. from Boston University's School of Management and a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University.

    Dr Michiyo Morisawa, Head of Japan, Networks & Global Outreach

    Dr Michiyo Morisawa works part-time leading the PRI signatory network in Japan and is Head of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Japan office, guiding the initiative since CDP's global expansion in 2006. Dr Morisawa has been a lead author of the CDP Japan report. She has a PhD in Environment from Tokyo University. She is also a research member of the Hosei University for Low Carbon Policy of Local Government under the project of the Japanese Ministry of Environment. She has prior experience in international business development of financial services (amongst others at Citibank) for reducing settlement risk.

    Wakako Mizuta, Networks & Global Outreach Officer, Japan

    Wakako joined the PRI in July 2013 as Networks & Global Outreach Officer, Japan. Her responsibilities include managing internal and external communications and providing support with the implementation of the Principles to signatories based in Japan. She is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships between the PRI and key stakeholders in Japan’s responsible investment market. Wakako holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Social Responsibility from The University of Nottingham and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Adelphi University in the US.

  • Dustin Neuneyer

    Dustin Neuneyer, Head of Continental Europe, Networks & Global Outreach

    Dustin joined PRI in January 2014 as PRI's new part time Head of Continental Europe. He is responsible for engaging with and supporting European signatories in their RI practice and implementation, and fostering the development of the PRI European Network. He brings with him more than 12 years of experience in responsible investment and ESG integration gained through his positions as Director at corporate and investment bank WestLB and Senior Advisor to think tank and lobby NGO Germanwatch. Dustin developed and implemented first of its kind ESG approaches on business activities related to coal-fired power generation and on offshore oil drilling and production including the Arctic as well as on stakeholder dialogues. He holds a Masters of Art degree in Political Science, German Philology and Art History from the University of Cologne in Germany.

  • Nikolaj Halkjær Pedersen

    Nikolaj Halkjær Pedersen, Networks & Global Outreach Operations Manager

    Nikolaj joined the PRI as Network Officer in September 2014. Nikolaj holds a Bachelor in Philosophy and Anthropology and a Master in International Studies from Aarhus University in Denmark. He wrote his dissertation on the questions of how and why corporations should implement human rights due diligence in compliance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and other recognised international standards. Nikolaj is experienced in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and has previously worked as a project assistant at specialised consultancy GLOBAL CSR and as a human rights project coordinator with global water technology company Grundfos.

    Yulia Sofronova, Networks & Global Outreach Manager

    Yulia joined the PRI in 2010. In her role she leads PRI’s work in Canada and the Nordic countries to support implementation of the Principles by PRI signatories and helps promote responsible investment in these countries. Yulia has graduated from the Kingston University Business School with MA in Corporate Communications in 2009. Before joining the PRI she worked at Pensions Investment Research Consultants (PIRC) in a proxy voting team conducting analysis of companies’ corporate governance practices as well as consideration of social and environmental issues into their business strategies in the Nordic countries, US and Russia. Yulia holds a specialist diploma in foreign languages and worked for Deloitte CIS in Russia between 2005-2008 before perusing her postgraduate studies in London.

  • Archie Beeching

    Archie Beeching, Investment Practices Senior Manager, Fixed Income & Infrastructure

    Archie Beeching joined the PRI in January 2012 as part of the Implementation Support team. He is responsible for managing the fixed income and infrastructure work streams. This involves guiding steering committee and working group activities, reaching out to new and potential signatories and developing implementation tools with work stream participants. Archie has previous experience working in research and reporting roles for a leading Australian CSR consultant (Net Balance) and as an ESG research and engagement specialist (Regnan). In these roles he produced reports on sustainability within corporate supply chains and the relationship between human rights and investment. Archie holds a Master's of Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales. Before joining the responsible investment industry, he worked in account management and business development in the IT industry. Archie also holds a Master's in Spanish Literature from Edinburgh University.

    Natasha Buckley, Investment Practices Manager, Private Equity & Property

    Natasha Buckley joined the PRI in August 2011. She has an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in History from University College London. Natasha manages the Private Equity and Property work streams at the PRI, for the latter acting as point of liaison with the UNEP FI Property Working Group. She also manages internal and external communications for the Investment Practices team. Before joining the responsible investment industry, she held roles at UBS, the NHS and Simmons & Simmons (Paris).

    Naina Calland-Scoble, Investment Practices Project Manager

    Naina Calland-Scoble joined the PRI in May 2015. She is responsible for coordinating Investment Practices steering committee and working group activities and developing outreach and implementation materials within the fixed income and listed equity work streams. Prior to joining the PRI, Naina worked at Ethical Investment Research Services (EIRIS) as a research analyst. Her work included assessing aerospace and defence, tobacco, beverage and utilities companies on their environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, developing ESG methodology, company engagement and monitoring M&A activities. She also oversaw EIRIS’s human rights research and projects as human rights lead. Naina has previously worked with various human rights organisations in the Palestinian territories, and the NATO liaison office in Ukraine. She holds a BA in War Studies from King’s College London.

  • Don Gerritsen

    Don Gerritsen, Investment Practices Senior Manager

    Don Gerritsen leads Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)’s Asset Owner work, which mainly focuses on asset manager selection, appointment and monitoring. Moreover, Don is responsible for PRI’s passive investment work. Prior to joining PRI, Don worked with the Dutch Investors Association for Sustainable Development, where he has been acting as Manager Sustainability & Responsible Investment since early 2014. In addition to this, Gerritsen also currently works as Guest Lecturer Stakeholder Engagement at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Earlier in his career, he worked for KPMG for five years in its Global Climate Change and Sustainability Services Network between 2009 and 2014. He fulfilled several roles, including that of Senior Advisor and that of Subject-matter Executive to the global chairperson. Gerritsen has an educational background in investment management, law and environmental sciences

    Kurt Morriesen, Investment Practices Senior Manager

    Kurt Morriesen works with the Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (PIIF) and the Environmental & Social themed investments work stream. Prior to joining the PRI, Kurt worked for Eunomix, assisting mining companies in Southern Africa in redesigning corporate and sustainability strategies. He previously worked with the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) on advisory and investment projects focusing on impact investing and public-private partnerships (PPPs). Kurt holds an MBA from Hult International Business School, a Masters degree in local development from Spain, a certificate on negotiations from Harvard University, a programme on public management from Argentina, and bachelor degree in Law from Brazil.

    Justin Sloggett, Investment Practices Senior Manager, Listed Equity and Hedge Funds

    Justin joined the PRI in June 2014 and is responsible for the Listed Equity and Hedge Funds work streams. Before starting at PRI, he had worked for the Co-operative Asset Management as a Responsible Investment Analyst, where he conducted ESG research and engagement projects on companies in the Industrial, Energy, Technology, Transportation, and Utilities sectors. Justin has also worked for F&C Asset Management PLC as an Investment Support Analyst, where he worked alongside fund managers and performed middle office duties, such as performance analysis, and cash management and forecasting. Justin graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a CFA® charterholder.

    Alison Biscoe, Investor Engagements Project Manager, Clearinghouse

    Alison joined the PRI Initiative in January 2014. She is responsible for managing the Clearinghouse platform and providing support to other members of the Investor Engagements team on their collaborative engagements. Prior to joining the PRI, Alison worked as an intern for UNESCO, and various other social business and microfinance NGOs in Paris, London and Toronto. She holds a Master of Science in International Relations and Global Issues from the University of Nottingham, which included a year abroad attending the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

  • Paul Chandler

    Paul Chandler, Investor Engagements Manager, Environmental Issues

    Paul Chandler joined the PRI as Manager of Investor Engagements, Environmental Issues in March 2014. He is responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating engagements with companies and policy makers on issues including water, climate change, hydraulic fracturing and palm oil. Prior to joining the PRI, Paul worked in ESG research and engagement for Regnan - Governance Research & Engagement, an Australian specialist ESG provider working for and on behalf of institutional investors. Paul holds a Master of Environment with a specialisation in climate change from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Business majoring in finance from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

  • Gemma James

    Gemma James, Investor Engagements Manager, Environmental Issues

    Gemma James joined the PRI as Manager of Investor Engagements, Environmental Issues in April 2015. She is responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating engagements with companies and policy makers on water and hydraulic fracturing. Gemma previously worked for the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) in London.  She worked on water, biodiversity and climate change issues with mining companies to develop and share best practice. Gemma holds an MA in Environment, Politics and Globalisation and a BA in Geography, both from King’s College London.

  • Athanasia Karananou

    Athanasia Karananou, Investor Engagements Senior Manager

    Athanasia Karananou joined the PRI in October 2011. Her role includes developing, coordinating and facilitating investor engagements, with a focus on corporate governance issues. Previously Athanasia worked as a corporate governance analyst at HSBC Global Asset Management, where she was responsible for engagement with portfolio companies on corporate governance issues, as well as proxy voting and governance analysis of FTSE All-Share companies. Prior to this Athanasia was a senior researcher at PIRC, where she led a research team focusing on corporate governance analysis of emerging markets and sub-index companies. Her experience includes developing best practice principles, shareholder voting guidelines and market overviews for several emerging markets. Athanasia has an MSc in European Policy and Management, with a focus on European Politics and Corporate Governance (Birkbeck, University of London) and a BA in History (University of Athens).

    Olivia Mooney, Investor Engagements Manager, Governance Issues

    Olivia Mooney joined the PRI in August 2014. Her role includes developing, coordinating and facilitating investor engagements, with a focus on corporate governance issues. Prior to this Olivia worked as a research analyst at EIRIS, empowering responsible investors to integrate ESG into investment decisions. Her main focus was on companies in the financial services, telecommunication and technology sectors. Her previous work includes a collaborative project with the Istanbul Stock Exchange Sustainability index, company engagement, ESG methodology development and negative screening, among other research. Olivia holds a Master degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor degree in Religion and Theology from the University of Manchester.

    Ben Pincombe, Investor Engagements Officer

    Ben joined the PRI in June 2015. He is responsible for assisting the Investor Engagements team on their collaborative engagements and projects, as well as providing support to the Clearinghouse platform. Prior to joining the PRI, Ben worked as an auditor for PwC in their Insurance and Investment Management department. He is also a qualified chartered accountant (ACA) with the ICAEW. Ben holds a BA Hons in Economics with German from the University of Nottingham, which included a year abroad working and studying in Frankfurt.

    Olivia Watson, Head of Environmental and Social Issues

    Olivia oversees PRI’s collaborative initiatives on environmental and social themes. Prior to this, Olivia developed and managed PRI’s engagements on environmental issues such as climate change, water risk and palm oil. Before joining PRI, Olivia worked as a sustainability consultant advising multinational companies on sustainability strategy and stakeholder engagement, and as an analyst on ESG issues for a research firm, where she engaged with companies on climate change risks and opportunities. Olivia has an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and a BA in Biology from Bates College in the US

  • Felicitas Weber

    Felicitas Weber, Investor Engagements Manager, Social Issues

    Felicitas Weber is responsible for developing and facilitating investor engagements with companies on supply chain labour standards, employee relations and human rights. Prior to joining the PRI in April 2011, Felicitas has worked as development assistant for the charities Teach First and Historic Royal Palaces. She holds a Master in Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from Universität Leipzig, a Certificate of Political Studies from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Rennes as well as a qualification in European Quality and Project Management.

    Zoe Draisey, Reporting & Assessment Officer

    Zoe joined the PRI in March 2015 as a Reporting and Assessment Officer focusing on reporting outputs.  Zoe has previously worked at WWF in the UK Water Team as an analyst for the 2015 draft river basin management plans and at Marks & Spencer as a Commercial Planner in the foods franchise.  Zoe has a BSc in Zoology from Swansea University and an MA in Leadership for Sustainable Development from Middlesex University and Forum for the Future.

  • Alex Faulkner

    Alex Faulkner, Reporting & Assessment Manager

    Alex Faulkner joined the PRI in October 2011 as a Reporting and Assessment Manager. He has an MSc from UWE and completed his undergraduate degree in Biodiversity from The University of Kent. Prior to joining the PRI Alex worked as an intern on the Carbon Action Initiative at the Carbon Disclosure Project. Alex has over 5 years' experience as a consultant in the Oil & Gas sector working for multi-national clients including Shell, BP and Chevron advising them on a number of issues including site acquisition, due diligence and remediation. Alex has also worked as a researcher at EIRIS ranking companies for the BITC index.

  • Hitender Gujral

    Hitender Gujral, Reporting & Assessment Manager

    Hitender Gujral joined PRI in November 2010 as a Reporting and Assessment Manager. He has completed his MBA with Distinction from Nottingham University Business School in December 2010 and has specialised in Corporate Social Responsibility. During the course, he worked as a MBA summer intern at Schroders PLC and was responsible for developing a sustainability management framework for Schroder Property team. After successfully completing the Schroders internship, he worked as a Climate Change Intern at EIRIS for six weeks. The role involved researching on climate change initiatives undertaken by "high risk" companies such as cement production and electricity generation companies. Prior to pursuing the MBA course, he has worked in the Information Technology industry for three years with big IT corporates such as Wipro Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services as a Software Developer/Engineer. His role focused mainly on the development and maintenance of software applications for Banking, Insurance and Financial Services clients. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (2006) specialising in Telecommunications from VTU, India.

  • Alyssa Heath

    Alyssa Heath, Reporting & Assessment Senior Manager

    Alyssa joined PRI in July 2013 to manage PRI’s reporting and assessment process. Before joining PRI, Alyssa worked at CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) where she was responsible for the climate change scoring work, producing annual ratings for almost 4,000 of the world’s largest companies. She was also involved in developing indicators and benchmarking on corporate water stewardship. Alyssa started her career at the Energy Saving Trust, the UK’s domestic energy agency, where she worked with local councils, in particular on attracting private investment into domestic energy retrofitting. She holds a BA in Physics (Mansfield College, University of Oxford) and an MSc in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Climate Physics (University of Reading).

    Mandy Kirby, Head of Reporting & Assessment (maternity leave)

    Mandy joined PRI in January 2014. She is now Head of Reporting and Assessment developing the PRI’s reporting outputs, including the Report on Progress. Prior to joining PRI, Mandy was Associate Director at Maplecroft, leading geographical and sector research projects and advising corporate clients on sustainability and corporate responsibility issues. This incorporated the development and implementation of online and in-house tools for assessing and monitoring ESG risks, and contributions to thought leadership debates on key emerging value chain issues such as fracking, business ethics and human rights. She previously worked at business intelligence provider Global Insight, leading the country analysis team for Europe and CIS and conducting economic forecasting. She holds a First Class BA from University College London.

    Elina Rolfe, Reporting & Assessment Senior Manager

    Elina joined the PRI in March 2015 to manage the PRI’s reporting and assessment process. Before joining the PRI, Elina managed CDP’s independent rating system that benchmarks corporate disclosure and performance on environmental stewardship. She was responsible for leading the development of CDP’s scoring methodologies, as well as the process of scoring over 4,500 companies on climate change, water stewardship and deforestation risk management. Elina was also responsible for developing CDP’s technical approach on external verification. Before that, she was supporting large international corporations in their climate change data collection and corporate reporting practices. She holds an MA in Social Anthropology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in Sociology.

    Bhaarat Verma, Reporting & Assessment Officer

    Bhaarat Verma joined the PRI in November 2013 as part of the Reporting and Assessment team, where he is responsible for the Fixed Income and Listed Equities modules in the Reporting Framework. Bhaarat holds a BA in Politics & Philosophy from the University of Durham and a Graduate Diploma in Law. Prior to joining the PRI Bhaarat worked in engagement at Hermes EOS.

    Anna Bordon, Policy & Research Officer

    Anna joined the PRI in February 2015 and supports the Policy and Research team and the Academic Network. She was previously an intern at the Chatham House in the Energy, Environment and Resources department, a marketing researcher at the Financial Times Live and she worked in the transport sector at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. Anna holds a BA in Languages, Economics and Legal Institutions of Eastern Asia (China), a diploma in Mandarin Chinese from Beijing Language and Culture University, a MSc in International Management from SOAS, University of London and a Master in Energy Management from ESCP Europe Business School. Anna speaks fluent Italian and French and conversational Mandarin Chinese.

  • Danielle Chesebrough

    Danielle Chesebrough, Investor Relations Senior Manager, UN Global Compact

    Danielle Chesebrough has been working in her dual role with the PRI and UN Global Compact since May 2011. Her role focuses on facilitating collaboration among UN Global Compact companies and PRI signatories, primarily on issues relating to enhancing communication on ESG issues and financial value. Danielle also co-organizes the Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative with three UN partner organizations. The SSE addresses the various ways in which stock exchanges, in partnership with investors, companies and regulators,​ can promote more sustainable capital markets. Previously, Danielle worked in ESG client services at MSCI. Prior to joining the client services team, she conducted ESG analysis and led engagements with publicly companies. This experience has given her valuable understanding of the concerns and opportunities facing companies, policy makers, and investors. Danielle has a BA in Political Science from Clemson University and a Masters of Social Work, with a focus on Policy and International Studies from the University of Connecticut.

  • Andreas Hoepner

    Dr Andreas G. F. Hoepner, Senior Academic Fellow

    Andreas is serving as the Senior Academic Fellow to the PRI on a part-time basis since January 2014 having served as the Academic Fellow since September 2009. In this role, he (i) advises on research related aspects, (ii) presents research insights to signatories and (iii) more generally attempts to bridge gaps between responsible investment practice and academia. Andreas is Associate Professor in Finance at the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading. He is currently also serving as Senior Associate to the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (since June 2013) and as Technical Advisory Board member to CDP (since June 2015). He is also co-editor of the Cambridge Handbook of Institutional Investment and Fiduciary Duty (2014) and the Routledge Handbook of Responsible Investment (2015).  He gives about 50 research presentations per annum around the world. Some of the presentations have been simultaneously translated into Chinese, French, German and Japanese.

    Will Martindale, Head of Policy

    Will Martindale joined the PRI in February 2014 as Manager of Policy and research and was appointed to his current role of Head of Policy in November 2014. Previously Will worked for Oxfam as policy adviser for the financial sector. Will has a background in banking, joining JPMorgan's graduate programme in June 2004, supporting a web-based trading platform for JPMorgan's clients to manage a leveraged portfolio of credit default swaps. In September 2010, Will joined French bank, BNP Paribas, as a business manager for their credit trading desk. Will read Maths at King's College London and has a Masters in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics.

    Katherine Ng, Head of Academic Research

    Katherine joined the PRI in June 2014 and leads the Academic Research Programme. She brings a solid background in the academic field with over 10 years’ experience in policy and research. Katherine managed the research and insights programme at ACCA, the global accountancy body, developing, commissioning and communicating impactful and engaging research to stakeholders around the world. She was previously an academic researcher working on European Commission funded projects on science and society, and understands the value of research to inform policy development. Katherine holds an MA in International Relations and is a qualified programme manager (MSP).

  • Alessandro Boaretto_small

    Alessandro Boaretto, Design and Brand Manager

    Alessandro joined Principles for Responsible Investment as Design & Publication Officer in July 2013 and was appointed to his current role of Design & Brand Manager in April 2015. He oversees use of the PRI Brand and is responsible for designing and creating assets for a number of PRI outputs, including Publications, Event collateral, Presentations, Videos, the PRI website and any other graphic and multimedia assignments that may be requested. Before joining PRI, Alessandro has been working for twelve years as a graphic designer for typographic companies and specialised graphic & marketing service providers around Italy, Switzerland and UK. He holds a diploma in Graphic Design & Communication and a certificate in Web design & multimedia.

  • Joy Frascinella

    Joy Frascinella, Head of PR

    Joy joined the PRI as Head of PR in August 2014 and is responsible for managing global media relations across the organisation. Joy has over 18 years’ of PR experience and has worked with both leading investment banks—Citigroup, UBS, HSBC—as well as law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Lovells and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. Prior to joining PRI, Joy was a freelance PR consultant working with a wide variety of international clients in the financial, professional services and technology sectors. Before moving into PR, Joy spent 10 years as a freelance journalist, writing for publications including the Washington Post in the US and the NewScientist in London. Joy holds a B.S. degree from Barry University in Florida and did post-graduate work in journalism at Emerson College in Boston.

  • Laura James

    Laura James, Head of Events Logistics

    Laura James joined the PRI in May 2013. She is Head of Events Logistics, responsible for overseeing the logistics of all PRI events, primarily PRI in Person and the Academic Network Conference. She has 15 years’ events management experience and was previously the Events Operations Manager for the Association of Corporate Treasurers. Laura has worked within the not-for-profit, corporate and commercial sectors at organisations including Freshfields, Nuffield Trust, the British Institute of Radiology, Brintex and Praxity. She holds a BA from the University of Winchester and ‘Managing Safely in the Exhibition and Events Industry’ IOSH certification.

    Mark Kolmar, Editor

    Mark Kolmar joined the PRI as Editor in January 2015. He oversees the writing, editing and production of PRI content to ensure it successfully communicates the PRI’s mission and activities to PRI stakeholders including signatories, investors, academics, our UN partners, policy makers, and the media. Mark has previously worked at Reuters as Editorial Projects Manager and as Online Editor, at Thomson Financial as Online Editor and as Reporter, and at Euromoney as a Reporter and a Graduate Trainee. He holds a degree in English from the University of Cambridge.

    Kat Nellist, Head of Event Programmes

    Kat Nellist joined the PRI in May 2015 as Head of Event Programmes to develop the content for the responsible investment industry’s flagship annual conference, PRI in Person, as well as to oversee the programmes for PRI’s portfolio of global events across its networks. Kat brings over 16 years’ B2B events experience and during this time has worked on content development, marketing, sponsorship and operations for non-profit, policy-led organisations and on a range of events from utilities to retail. Previously, Kat worked for the Confederation of British Industry, leading their high-profile CBI Annual Conference. Kat holds a degree in Modern European Studies from Nottingham Trent University.

    Lucinda Thomas, Events Assistant

    Lucinda Thomas joined the PRI in June 2014. In her role as Events Assistant she manages conference and events administration, primarily for PRI in Person and the Academic Network Conference. In addition to the events function, Lucinda provides general communications support to the wider team on a range of key signatory communications. Prior to joining the PRI, Lucinda studied at the University of Oxford, obtaining a first class honours degree in Experimental Psychology.

Operations and Finance

  • Faima Akthar

    Faima Akthar, Assistant Management Accountant

    Faima joined the PRI in November 2010. In her role as Assistant Management Accountant she manages the day-to-day finance processes, payroll and management accounts. Prior to the PRI, Faima worked within the Finance team at the International Organisation for Migration, IOM, who work to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration. Prior to this, Faima worked with The Children’s Society, a charity focused on social justice and welfare provision in addition to encouraging young people to speak and act for themselves. Faima holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich and is Part Qualified in CIMA.

    Jozsef Harcsa, Systems Analyst

    Jozsef joined the PRI in July 2014 as Systems Analyst within the Information Technology team. Prior to joining the PRI, he had worked in various telecommunication and IT positions across the public sector in Hungary. In his role as a Systems Analyst he designs and implements IT solutions supporting both PRI staff and signatories. Jozsef holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Information Technology and is currently completing his M.Sc. in Engineering Information Technology. Jozsef has Microsoft Certifications in SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013.

  • Tatenda Kupara

    Tatenda Kupara, IT Manager

    Tatenda joined the PRI in November 2013. In his role as IT Manager he oversees the delivery of IT services within the PRI Secretariat. Prior to this, he spent eight years working within various UK-based organisations, including the University of Warwick. Tatenda is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in SQL Server 2008/2012.

    Elaine Miller, Financial Accountant

    Elaine joined the PRI in August 2014 as Financial Accountant. Prior to the PRI, Elaine gained extensive experience working in various industries including Reservoir Evaluation and Global Growth Equity. Elaine is ICSA qualified and a CIMA finalist.

  • Katherine Pruski

    Katherine Pruski, Signatory Operations & Network Manager

    Katherine has worked at the PRI since February 2011. In her role as Signatory Operations & Networks Manager she coordinates the UK signatory network and oversees the logistics of the signatory base, including sign up and invoicing. Prior to the PRI Katherine worked on the membership team at Pilotlight, a UK-based charity, and before that the Welsh Assembly Government on a support programme for business start-ups.

    Nikola Sobot, Head of Partnerships

    Nikola joined the PRI as a Head of Partnerships in November 2014. In this role he is responsible for developing partnerships and delivering a sustainable income strategy. He has over 14 years of experience in the Governmental and NGO sector, having previously held executive roles within UK charities, including the Future Development Foundation and NCB. He worked for over 6 years with the European Parliament and European Commission as Policy Advisor and Project Manager as well as the Council of Europe where he created and maintained the network of pan-European regions. Nikola has also worked at the United Nations as Economic Adviser and has a BSc in Banking and Finance, an MA in International Development from Regensburg University and the title of Diplomatic Attaché.

    Terry Thornton, Head of Online Learning, PRI Academy

    Terry joined PRI in November 2014 with an extensive background in training programs and courses in sustainable and responsible investment. His responsibilities include providing day-to-day management of online courses and programmes offered by the PRI Academy, setting academic priorities, and aligning academy goals. Prior to PRI, Terry developed online courses and live workshops on responsible investment for investment professionals at the US Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF). In addition, he helped create and develop the Center for Sustainable Investment Education for the US SIF Foundation. Prior to US SIF, Terry’s experience includes developing training programs for pension trustees, running shareowner advocacy campaigns, and reporting on corporate governance. Terry holds an M.P.P from Harvard University and a B.A. from the University of Maryland.

    Karen joined the PRI in August 2014 in the role of Receptionist / Administrator. In this role Karen ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the PRI office, as well as providing support to management and across teams. Prior to joining PRI, Karen studied Business Management at London Metropolitan University achieving a BA (Hons). She has a keen interest in domestic and international Corporate Governance as well as Regulation and Management in the Global Community.
