26 – 27 September Lonmin and Impala Platinum mine site visit 
 

The PRI Initiative, STANLIB Asset Management and GEPF are pleased to offer an opportunity for a limited number of investor delegates to visit the mining operations of Lonmin and Impala Platinum. Attendees will first attend a forum where they will be briefed on the issues surrounding mining (including regulation, governance, and labour) followed by site visits to mines in Rustenburg the following day.

30 September Johannesburg Stock Exchange ESG Investor Briefing
 

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) in collaboration with the PRI will be holding an ESG investor briefing showcasing constituents of the JSE’s Socially Responsible Investment Index. The JSE SRI Index companies will share their company prospects, with specific reference to how they integrate environmental, social and economic sustainability and governance considerations. The programme will consist of approximately 7 companies, each of which will have a slot for a presentation as well as an interactive Q&A.

Now in its seventh year, PRI in Person is the only opportunity of the year for all PRI signatories and potential signatories to meet, collaborate and learn from their peers. The conference is two full days packed with innovative roundtables, thought-provoking sessions, peer-to-peer dialogue and plenty of time to network. PRI signatories, industry experts and thought leaders will lead engaging panels, debates and round-tables.

3 October PRI Private Equity event in Cape Town: The growing importance of ESG in African private equity
 

This event organised in partnership with the African Venture Capital Association (AVCA), the South African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) and hosted by Old Mutual Investment Group will bring together Limited Partners, General Partners and other stakeholders to tackle the environmental, social and governance topics that are relevant to Africa.
