Services and networks Engagement Clearinghouse Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues are too big and complex for one investor to deal with alone. PRI can support signatories in all phases of an engagement, from developing engagement strategies and work plans to perform many of the time-consuming and resource-intensive activities involved in an engagement. PRI signatories are keen to invest in companies and projects that contribute positively to global growth. The Clearinghouse has approximately 20 active collaborations running at any one time. These include:
Back to list Through PRI’s annual Reporting and Assessment survey, signatories can access the only international benchmarking resource reporting on their investment activities. Responsible investing strategies exist within all asset classes. However, in order to increase awareness, grow knowledge and improve RI implementation, this work stream was established to provide services to all signatories via our online extranet. PRI has developed an Enhanced Research Portal providing members with timely and transparent analysis covering environmental, social and corporate governance issues and their implications for companies, sectors and markets. PRI in Practice is an online knowledge base that has been established to assist signatories in learning about implementation from peers. It includes interviews with leading industry practitioners discussing the implementation of individual principles. This tool also provides other resources such as book reviews and principle-by-principle case studies, which are designed to provide signatories with the ability to understand the theoretical underpinnings of responsible investment as well as keeping up to date on the latest debates and arguments. The Small Funds Initiative is dedicated to assisting asset owners with less than US$ 2 billion assets under management in their implementation of the six Principles. Although the initiative was founded to support the needs of small asset owners, investment managers with limited resources and service providers have also been encouraged to become active participants with the work stream. The academic network is a unique web-based tool for knowledge exchange between practitioners and academics. It provides easily accessible research and knowledge and the chance to engage in network-building on critical responsible investment issues. The network helps to encourage interest and collaboration in responsible investment research. PRI produces a monthly RI Digest and an annual academic conference. Go to the academic network website PRI’s private equity work stream brings together limited partners (investors), general partners (private equity firms), advisors and fund of funds to raise awareness and support implementation of the Principles in this asset class. A new Steering Committee was established in October 2009 to develop this work stream. Membership of the Steering Committee includes an even number of General Partner and Limited Partner signatories from all regions of the world. More information Microfinance and impact investing The work stream explores how signatories can invest in companies and projects that produce financial returns and demonstrate sustainable development outcomes that contribute to the UN Millennium Development Goals. More than 170 signatories invest in clean tech, sustainable forestry, global health and microfinance. It is important that investors keep abreast of changes and respond competitively. PRI has relationships with many conference organisers giving you access to discounts at events across the globe. The online conference and events database is exclusive to signatories and accessible through a password protected website. Strong relationships are important. The PRI is committed to helping you promote the Principles within your organisation. We have a dedicated team offering you support for road-show responsible investment to relevant stakeholders.
