MxColab is the first collaborative engagement initiative in Mexico that promotes joint efforts among various investors to achieve positive and significant impacts on the sustainable performance of companies.

In its first phase, MxColab will focus its engagement efforts on climate change management, given its systemic importance.

The initiative was launched in June 2025 by the Consejo Mexicano de Finanzas Sostenibles (CMFS), who act as its secretariat. The PRI supports the initiative and participates as a permanent observer on its Steering Committee.

MxColab aims to:

  • Foster dialogues between investors and companies to promote the adoption of strong sustainability practices.
  • Address the low representation of Mexican companies in similar international collaborative engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate engagement practices grounded in a public benchmark developed by an independent provider, ensuring transparency and consistency across investor-company interactions.

It provides a platform for coordination between investors and Mexican companies in the public market, aiming to promote better corporate sustainability practices, aligned with the Sustainable Finance Mobilization Strategy and both local and international standards.
