We are pleased to invite you to a half day seminar, which is a joint event by the PRI and the Centre for Endowment Asset Management, taking place at Cambridge Judge Business School.
It is an opportunity to hear about the latest research on the financial impact of collaborative engagement, measurement on the drivers of environmental and social performance, and to discuss the opportunities it offers for investment practitioners. The seminar brings together ESG experts, with the goal of linking investment practice with ongoing academic research and in so doing, deepen current thinking around this theme.
The seminar will include:
- An opening from the PRI’s CEO, Fiona Reynolds, who will highlight the PRI’s Principle 2 guidance on active ownership
- An introduction to the PRI commissioned research project ‘Coordinated Engagements’ by Elroy Dimson, Oğuzhan Karakaş, and Xi Li, which discusses the nature and benefits of coordinated, collaborative and international efforts to influence investee companies on environmental and social issues
- Emerging research from Jiali Yan using stock returns to measure what drives a firm’s environmental and social performance and from Vaska Atta-Darkua focusing on the impact of investment exclusions.
- A panel discussion in which investment practitioners offer their experience and knowledge on the opportunities research can offer practitioners.
The seminar will start and end with further opportunities for discussion, during a networking lunch and a closing drinks reception. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is essential.
