Job description

The Senior Sponsorship Specialist’s primary responsibility is supporting the development of a new regional in-person event in the UAE, helping to build and manage sponsorship pipelines, contribute to strategy, and coordinate sponsor outreach and delivery.

The role may also support the Head of Sponsorship In delivering sponsor commitments for PRI’s annual global conference, ‘PRI in Person’. In addition, it will contribute to identifying and developing sponsorship opportunities across other areas of PRI’s work.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Sponsorship supporting strategies and plans to deliver and ideally exceed financial targets
  • Support the creation and delivery of a sponsorship strategy for PRI’s upcoming regional in-person event, including researching prospects, drafting proposals, and coordinating contracting processes
  • Help track and update the regional event sponsorship pipeline and assist with reporting and relationship management
  • Support research and identify prospects from within and outside PRI’s Signatory base for PRI’s flagship event; PRI in Person
  • Proactively approach prospects and build relationships with key contacts, in liaison with Head of Sponsorship and other appropriate colleagues
  • Ensure a consistent approach is taken on all sponsor negotiations, setting and supporting on internal team protocols to ensure sponsors/ potential sponsors receive equitable service and value
  • Work with Head of Sponsorship to thoroughly scope out and road test potential sponsorship packages
  • Ensure timely planning and communication of sponsorship digital and in-person deliverables to each sponsor
  • Work with Head of Sponsorship to establish communication protocols to ensure seamless sponsorship activation, in particular for the new regional event
  • Contribute to internal evaluations of sponsored activities (e.g. new regional event and PRI in Person) and integrate learnings into future plans
  • Use Salesforce to document correspondence with prospects and partners and develop reports to generate timely management and monitoring information
  • Enforce sponsor agreement processes, and where appropriate, ensure due diligence processes have been followed
  • Provide excellent client services and relationship management to key contacts and aim to exceed expectations in client satisfaction
  • Ensure efficient, accurate and timely communication through negotiations, sponsorship activation and in evaluation.
  • Ensure accurate sponsorship details and reports on the Salesforce database
  • Create financial and activity reports on income generated through sponsorships
  • Support the Head of Sponsorship on any duties which may be requested.

Core Competencies

  • Experience in conference sponsorship with a proven track record of sponsorship negotiation, activation and evaluation
  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills
  • Strong account management skills with a client-focused mindset, including face-to-face engagement and cross-team collaboration
  • Commercially astute, calm under pressure, and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised, efficient, and proactive in planning and execution
  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others & committed to fostering an inclusive environment 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to developing others and a growth mindset, actively pursuing continuous profession and personal development
  • IT/Digital skills (Microsoft Office, website management systems, CRM, social media, webinar platforms, form builder.) Experience using Salesforce and BrightTalk an advantage.  
  • Experience working in the UAE would be an advantage.  
  • Language skills, other than English, are desirable
