Launched in 2021, the PRI Permissions System provides signatories with greater flexibility and control over their organisation’s data. The system enables signatories to manage their internal and external staff’s access to reporting platforms . Please see the full Permissions System user guide for more information.

In 2021, alongside the launch of the 2021 pilot reporting year and the new Data Portal, the PRI also launched the Permissions System. The Permissions System allows signatories to manage their organisation’s internal and external staff’s access to reporting platforms, like the Reporting Tool and the Data Portal.

New users cannot register themselves for the Reporting Tool or Data Portal directly – the only way to gain access to these platforms is for a Main Admin or Admin user at their organisation to invite them via the Permissions System.

An organisation’s Main Admin or Admin can invite new users to register for the platforms, manage other users’ roles, and change or revoke an existing user’s level of access. For data security purposes however, signatories cannot directly change their organisation’s Main Admin via the Permissions System. To change an organisation’s Main Admin, you must contact the PRI (see section below: How to change your organisation’s Main Admin).

With the greater degree of flexibility granted to signatories via the Permissions System, an organisation’s Main Admin and Admins are expected to keep other users roles up-to-date within the Permissions System. If a contact has left the organisation, Main Admin and/or Admins should update the Permissions System user roles accordingly.

How it Works

Users are granted permissions by being assigned one or more Roles:

  • *Access to the Permissions System allows users to assign “Admin”, “Reporting Contributor” and Data Portal Contributor” Roles to other users.
  • **Access to the Reporting Tool allows users to view, edit and submit reporting responses. Please note the Reporting Tool is closed when it is not a live reporting period.
  • ***Access to the Data Portal allows users to view and download private and public reports.

How to register as a new user:

  • If you are a new user (i.e., a signatory contact that has not registered for PRI platforms), you can register for a PRI account here.
  • Then, contact your organisation’s Main Admin or Admin requesting access to the Data Portal and/or Reporting Tool via the Permissions System.
    • The Main Admin or Admin will need to invite you via the Permissions System (see: Permissions System guide, “How to grant access to a new user”).
    • If you are not aware internally who your organisation’s Main Admin or Admins are, please email reporting@unpri.org, to find out who is listed as the Main Admin and Admin for your organisation.
  • Once the Main Admin or Admin has invited you via the Permissions System you will receive an email that you have been invited to access the Reporting Tool and/or the Data Portal, depending on the level of access granted.
  • You can now use your credentials to log in to the Data Portal and/or Reporting Tool.

How to change your organisation’s Main Admin:

  • To change your organisation’s Main Admin in the Permissions System, please have your current Main Admin contact your organisation’s Relationship Manager to confirm the change.
    • With the updated user role, the new Main Admin will be able to invite new users to the Permissions System and/or modify existing user roles.
  • If your current Main Admin in the Permissions System is no longer at the organisation:
    • Please email your organisation’s Relationship Manager to communicate who should be listed as the organisation’s new Main Admin.
  • If you are not aware who your organisation’s current Main Admin is:
    • Please email reporting@unpri.org, and we will inform you who is listed as the current Main Admin for your organisation.
  • When selecting the Main Admin in the Permissions System, we recommend nominating your organisation’s primary PRI Reporting contact.

Please see the full Permissions System guide for more information on how to log in, or grant access to a new user as a Main Admin or Admin.
