Connect and engage with others

The PRI runs more than 150 signatory events and workshops each year. Upcoming events are listed by region on the events page.

The Collaboration Platform is a public tool that allows signatories and other stakeholders to share information, pool resources and enhance their influence on ESG issues. It offers a range of global initiatives that involve investors engaging with listed companies, policy makers and other actors in the investment chain.

Signatory-only features include being able to create a collaboration and use the Resolution Database to export ESG resolutions and pre-declare voting intention(s). You can sign up here to register for an account on the Collaboration Platform.

The Data Portal provides information on other signatories. It is a web-based platform that allows you to access publicly disclosed PRI Transparency Reports, request private reports from other signatories, export responses (including assessment scores) and explore the distribution of scores for specific peer groups.

The Data Portal is a great way to learn from your peers or to track your manager’s ESG performance. Signatories wishing to access the Data Portal can request access when registering for the Collaboration Platform or contact [email protected]

Report and assess your activity

Signatories commit to reporting on their responsible investment activities when signing the six Principles. New signatories have a grace period during which reporting is voluntary – and transparency reports can remain anonymous. The PRI encourages new signatories to report in their voluntary year to learn about the reporting process.

After reporting, signatories receive the following outputs:

  • A public Transparency Report, which is published in the Signatory Directory and in the Data Portal and includes all public and mandatory indicators.
  • A private Transparency Report, which is confidential and includes all public and private indicators.
  • A private Assessment Report (investors only), which is confidential, and shows broad scoring bands per module or asset class/sub-strategy as outlined in the assessment methodology. The PRI does not provide an overall organisation score.

This Assessment Report is available on the Data Portal but can only be shared with third parties if approved by the signatory. To find out more about reporting, visit Reporting and assessment.

Meet our minimum requirement

Signatory accountability is integral to achieving the PRI’s mission and providing value to our signatories. The minimum requirements for investor membership play an important role within that, ensuring that a baseline level of responsible investment is achieved across our investor signatory base.

Asset owner and investment manager signatories that fail to meet these requirements over a two-year/two-reporting cycle period, following extensive engagement with the PRI, will be submitted to the PRI Board for delisting.  The three requirements are:

  1. Signatories must have a responsible investment policy setting out the firm’s overall approach and/or formalised guidelines on environmental, social and governance factors. The policy must cover more than 50% of AUM;

  2. Signatories must have senior-level oversight and accountability for responsible investment implementation. Individuals with oversight roles are those with management or governance responsibility for ensuring that the organisation implements its policies and achieves its objectives and targets in relation to responsible investment. Senior-level roles include board trustees, executive-level staff, investment committees, heads of department and equivalent; and

  3. Signatories must have at least one person whose role includes responsibility for implementing responsible investment in their organisations – for example, through conducting ESG-related research, incorporating ESG issues into investment strategies, voting shareholdings, and engaging with companies and policy makers. This role can be covered by internal or external staff, it does not require dedicated responsible investment/ESG investment staff.

View guidance on the minimum requirements.
