Welcome to the PRI – a community of over 5,000 organisations around the world that have publicly demonstrated their commitment to responsible investment.

Get support from your relationship manager

Relationship managers are our signatories’ first point of contact with the PRI, helping direct signatories to resources and activities that are aligned with their needs. If you have not already been introduced, your Relationship Manager will be in touch shortly to arrange an introductory call, to establish how the PRI can best support you in your initial months.

Develop your programme

Connect and engage with others

The PRI runs over 100 signatory events and workshops each year; upcoming events are listed by region on the events page.

The Collaboration Platform is a public tool that allows signatories and other stakeholders to share information, pool resources and enhance their influence on ESG issues. It offers a range of global initiatives that involve investors engaging with listed companies, policy makers and other actors in the investment chain. Signatory-only features include being able to create a collaboration and use the Resolution Database to export ESG resolutions and pre-declare voting intention(s). You can sign up here to register for an account on the Collaboration Platform.

The Data Portal provides information on other signatories. It is a web-based platform that allows you to access publicly-disclosed PRI Transparency Reports, request private reports from other signatories, export responses (including assessment scores) and explore the distribution of scores for specific peer groups. The Data Portal is a great way to learn from your peers or to track your manager’s ESG performance. Signatories wishing to access the Data Portal can request access when registering for the Collaboration Platform or contact info@unpri.org

Report and assess your activity

Reporting is compulsory for PRI signatories as one of the commitments they make when signing the six Principles. New signatories have a one-year grace period whereby the first reporting cycle is voluntary – and transparency reports can remain anonymous. The PRI encourages new signatories to report in their voluntary year to learn about the reporting process.

After reporting, signatories receive a Transparency Report and an Assessment Report. The Transparency Report gives detailed responses to a selection of the questions and is published on the Signatory Directory.

The Assessment Report, which is private, shows module scores and rankings in signatories’ peer groups. The PRI does not provide an overall organisational score. This report is available on the Data Portal but can only be shared with other signatories, if approved by the signatory. After receiving their reports, signatories may request an assessment discussion during which PRI staff can highlight how and where to adhere to best practices in responsible investment.

Meet our minimum requirements

In 2018, the PRI introduced the minimum requirements to increase signatory accountability and provide a common baseline. They are an objective, criteria-based approach to ensuring Asset Owner and Investment Manager signatories achieve a minimum level of progress each year. Signatories that do not meet the criteria will be informed privately, with delisting a last resort following engagement and support from the PRI over a two-year period.

The three requirements are:

  1. Investment policy that covers the firm’s responsible investment approach, covering >50% of AUM;
  2. Internal/external staff responsible for implementing responsible investment policy;
  3. Senior-level commitment and accountability mechanisms for responsible investment.
