Publications showcase our analysis and positions on sustainability reporting practices and standard-setting developments.
The PRI hosts webinars to inform investors of ongoing standard-setting developments in sustainability reporting, and to highlight signatories’ own experiences with sustainability data.
As external standard-setting efforts gather pace to align the system of corporate sustainability disclosures and reporting, it will be crucial to provide a coordinated view on preparer and user needs and expectations, as well as insight on how information is used to inform strategic management and investment decisions. The PRI and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) are facilitating direct conversations between investors and business about what decision-useful sustainability related information is, and how and where that information can be used. The taskforce includes a diverse group of leading CIOs, along with CFOs from the issuer community, across industry sectors and asset classes to ensure that findings reflect the challenges faced by preparers, the needs of users, and a variety of functional, regional, and industry perspectives.
As global regulation and standard setting evolve, these initiatives must reflect user needs and expectations. The PRI has convened a group of international, senior investment and ESG professionals who are fully integrating responsible investment in their firm’s investment decisions and active ownership, to ensure that common efforts in this area reflect the needs of information users across geographies and asset classes. Members provide input and feedback on the PRI’s work on corporate reporting, support the PRI in developing policies on these issues and exchange information about relevant developments in their markets.
